daddy on MySpace

You may have noticed a few posts on here from somebody called ‘daddy’…. (note the lower case ‘d’ - eh daddy?)
‘Chips’ is out there in the ether too - but he hasn’t pulled his finger out and got around to posting yet.
daddy…. or chips…. I never could choose between them! ;-)
But i digress….
‘daddy’ has gone and got himself on MySpace - you can find him on there as Picnicbear.

Podling II - The Sequel

My old trusty ipod died - Podling had been faithful to me for over 3 years - never letting me down - always with me providing a soundtrack to my life - but sadly Podling’s battery just wasn’t up to the life of hardwork into which it was born. Podling - you shall be forever with me in spirit.
Enter Podling II….
Podling II
Got a bit of a bonus at work so decided to splash out with some of it and save the rest for a holiday later in the year.
Here’s to a new partnership with Podling II - may you have a life as long and giving as Podling did before you!

A day of chaos in London

What the fuck was going on today? It seems like today was a day meant for travel woe!
I got to Vauxhall station this morning on the way to work and it was closed. It seems TFL had neglected to send me their usually helpful text message letting me know that my ‘travel to work’ route had issues - my ‘Victoria Line suspended in both directions between Brixton and Victoria due to emergency engineering work’ message must have got lost in the ether.
I got the number2 bus - hopeful of still getting to work close to ‘on time’, but nooooooo - the gods of London public transport were not smiling on me. D’oh!
Immediately after crossing Vauxhall bridge, the number2 (appropriately named it seems now) hit gridlock.
Upon calling into work I discover that a major fire out east is having a knock on effect on all travel routes.
Finally I get into work and proceed with my day as normal….
Upon leaving work I notice a large amount of people milling around but don’t really think too much about it - its a reasonable evening and people are shopping.
I get home to the news that a fire further up Oxford Street from work has closed that end of the street to all traffic. Oxford Street, to those who live under a stone, is the country’s busiest shopping street, and has many bus routes and taxis travelling along it. Thankfully, my route home cuts off that part off town.
Result of closure? Travel chaos for thousands!
Not a good day for moving around London.

Just thought it might be useful!

It will find you…

What’s going on…? I am starting to shoegaze again….. must be something Ken’s putting in the London water.

Really loving this track from Maps. ‘It Will Find You’: swirly intense loopy guitar stuff.

Fields and Everything Last Winter

Fields - Everything Last Winter - Click to visit their website
No, it’s not a cryptic crossword clue…. they’re band and album title respectively.
I went to see Fields play live tonight at Kings College London students union.
And what a band! Tight, so much energy, truly amazing vocal harmonies, great stage presence….
There aren’t sufficient superlatives to do justice to how blown away I was, especially by a band who only played their first live show 1 year ago.
The album has been on my playlist since I got it - GET IT!
A few pics posted below, but if the opportunity should present itself then GO SEE THEM!

When is a toothache not a toothache?

Well - In my previous post about my toothache, I said I was going to the dentist today to get it sorted…. and went I did.
However, the outcome was not at all what I had expected….
Having not been to the dentist for about 10 years (I know, I know!), I expected to get the standard lecture about dental check-ups and to be told I needed some fillings.
But no….

All welcome - just don’t expect your liver to like it!

I’ve got the blahs - big time!

OK - so I did make a promise to myself that I wouldn’t be using 200feet to rant and moan too much. But fuck it - I need to vent…!
Small moan first - I’ve had toothache now for almost a week and I’m sick of it - it’s making me grumpy and short tempered - apologies to those unfortunate enough to have crossed my path this past week. Dentist on Monday morning - thank fuck!
Now the big moan - light blue touchpaper and stand well back…….
I just want to get my shoulder op done and dusted now - my little sidebar widget up there in the top left hand corner tells me I have another 18 days to go.
I first dislocated my shoulder when I was 15 years of age! 8 dislocations and over 16 years later I am finally going to get it sorted (hopefully). This last month though is dragging!
I normally put a few extra pounds on over winter when theres no softball, but as soon as training starts in March it drops right off. But, this year I can’t train before the upcoming op.
I look like shit, I feel like shit, I miss softball, and I’m sick of waiting!
