Is it me, or is this week seemingly endless?
Amazing considering there are only 4 working days in it, what with Monday being a bank holiday.
Don’t much feel like writing at the moment - so forgive any reduction in post frequency or quality.
Overtired.
….but now I’m not so sure!
I am admittedly a little behind with my tech (read geek) news, so while at a friends this weekend I was dismayed at the (apparently not to recent) news that the frontrunner to win exclusivity on the iPhone is t-mobile (read t-schmobile).
I’m a huge fan of the iPhone in principle, but am really not a fan of t-schmobile. Having worked in the mobile phone industry for a time, and talked to my friends that have used them as a provider, I have seen the frankly crap customer service they provide.
Now, upon further reading it seems that they are likely to be the only UK network capable of offering almost all of the technical services available through the iPhone. Though Vodafone are not far behind.
This kind of exclusive deal, whether based on available technology on the network, or based on commercial motives, leaves us with a dilema….
Do we jump networks to get the iphone as soon as its available? “YES!” I hear the geeks cry in one voice!
Or do we wait until the bugs are ironed out, the technology is more widely available, and any exclusivity has expired? Let’s not forget we are talking about Apple here - iPhone 2 is most likely not far away and potentially with more improvements/extra features than the original. Plus the expiry of any exclusive deal will hopefully mean more competitive prices.
The geek in me is screaming ‘I WANT IT!’ - but my own internal Yoda calmly whispers “Be patient you must! In time answers you will find”.
Geek or Yoda? The force is strong in both of them.

Bit of a warm spell here in London, and it’s kinda nice, but only up to a point…. the arm brace makes the warm weather pretty uncomfortable and sticky.
Feeling a bit crappy this evening to be honest.
I miss normality - bathing and showering normally; travelling around on the tube/bus without constantly watching for the idiot who might bump into me; using a knife and fork; being able to lie flat in bed and sleeping more than a few hours at a time without waking up; softball; proper hugs; cuddles; Sunday mornings; my boys.
It’s only been 16 days, and it’s only going to be another 12 days until the brace comes off, so I feel like I shouldn’t moan. I know there are people far worse off and it’s only for 4 weeks altogether, and the long term gain is worth it - but today I feel pretty fed up and blue.
Lowest day of the process so far!
No - not a scene from Banzai….
(Don’t know Banzai? - only one of the best, and daftest, TV shows ever made!)
….but a question that just occurred to me…. concentrate now!
I normally get paid on the 28th of the month.
28th May 2007 is a Monday - booooooo, bad timing!
But 28th May 2007 is also a public/bank holiday - yay!
Therefore, no banking transactions.
So?….
If the 28th of the month falls on a Saturday or Sunday I get paid on the Friday before.
So, if Monday 28th May 2007 is a bank holiday, and they can’t pay me Saturday or Sunday….
….Does that mean I get paid on Friday 25th May?
OK .... So I don't live that high up anymore.
I moved. I miss the view loads, but I don't miss the stairs if the pissy lifts break, or some of the neighbours (see pissy lifts).
I kept the name 200feet cos I liked it - so sue me!
Plus some would say I have one or two views of my own - cue 200feet.com.
