Just home from seeing ‘Sweeney Todd - The Demon barber of Fleet Street’ at the cinema.
Gorey, dark, more than a little twisted and yet visually stunning, beautifully acted and damned funny in places….
Well, what did you expect? It is a Tim Burton film after all.
Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are suitably quirky in their mutually beneficial business arrangement - a subject on which I shall say no more…. You either know the story or you should see the film.
To be honest, I think this is a film you will either love or hate - It is a musical and that will not suit everyone, and some people I spoke to found Stephen Sondheim’s score not to their taste.
I personally loved it!
Long may the triad of Burton, Depp and Bonham Carter endure….
I have great pleasure in announcing that work does, in fact, not suck.
(Oh wait, I did that already in the title up there! D’oh)
I am enjoying my job.
It is a challenge, but in a good way - there is lots to learn.
It is busy, but in a good way - always new people to speak to.
It is worthwhile - I see the value of what I do.
Here is the clincher….
London’s emloyers, are you listening?….
Maybe you would like to get a pen and paper and take note?….
I get some recognition for the contribution I make and the work that I do.
I challenge all bosses out there to do one good thing at work tomorrow….
When a member of your staff makes a good job of something, no matter how small, just thank them.
Thats it! No bells and whistles. No cash bonus. No public displays of gratitude. Just thank them.
Simple really, isn’t it?
When was the last time you did that?
Costs nothing and you could make someones day….
The show looks amazing!
She is definitely raising her flag, higher and higher (sorry - couldn’t resist).
Can’t wait until we get to see it in April here in London!
It’s been an odd month since my laptop died (RIP).
I have been online on various borrowed machines, not least of which was a new MacBook Pro which I have fallen in love with and reluctantly returned to its owner on Monday, but nothing with sufficient regularity to make me want to start Blogging again.
Thankfully a friend has now lent me his old Power Book which I can hang on to until I get something new for myself - so thanks Diddy.
Of course, I have agreed to help him run his record label and so I guess it is in his interest to keep me online in the short term, but more on that later.
It’s good to be back - new and improved and well and truly bitten by the Apple bug!
OK .... So I don't live that high up anymore.
I moved. I miss the view loads, but I don't miss the stairs if the pissy lifts break, or some of the neighbours (see pissy lifts).
I kept the name 200feet cos I liked it - so sue me!
Plus some would say I have one or two views of my own - cue 200feet.com.
